Reyhan dan kabuto

Lately, Reyhan is crazy about kabuto (stag beetle). I don't know what cause it, but he's so determined to get one that he asked over and over again to go looking for it in the 'forest' outside. Finally, Mas buys him a kabuto at Tostem for 700 yen. At first we think that we only buy one kabuto (the male one). But then, at home, we realize that there are 2 kabutos in the cage, a couple actually. So, there they are, in our room, Reyhan's first pets (can we call beetles "pet"?) . Wanna know what their food provided by the store? it's jelly, you know, like nata de coco and stuff, the small jelly for kids. That's their food!

Reyhan 'the kabuto' (see the 'tanduk' on his forehead?) and his kabutos (look closer and you'll see it inside the box on the right side)

The problem is, kabuto is a night bug. During daytime, they hide and sleep under ground (in their natural habitat). But at night, they go out and fly out to the trees, looking for food (which is tree trunk). So, when we're ready to bed, they're ready to play! It's really difficult for me to sleep with them buzzing and cracking around (it seems like I'm the only who is bothered by that sounds, 'cause mas and the children have no difficulty sleeping. How could I sleep while everytime I hear the sound, I feel like they're flying above my head?)
