Two days ago, there was a train accident in Japan. It was really awful. Many people were dead and hundreds were injured. The cause? Rather simple, actually, because the train was running a bit late and the driver tried to make up for the lost time (he made a mistake in the previous station by stopping several meters, 40 meters to be exact, outside the station and losing some time repositioning the train). So he sped up, and the train ended up crushing the condominium building near the rail.

Having heard this, and reflecting on my experience about coming late to the hoken center and missing the doctor, I remembered what Indonesian use to say: Alon alon asal kelakon, biar lambat asal selamat. I wonder what the Japanese would say about this.......
